Graduated in Law from the University of Deusto and a Master’s degree in Corporate legal advice from the Instituto de Empresa. A practicing lawyer of the Bar Association of Álava. He has extensive experience as a specialist in Business Law, having developed his entire career (2000-2016) at the renowned law firm of Garrigues as Principal Associate of the firm in the Northern Area (Basque Country, La Rioja, Navarra). He specialises in commercial, contractual and tax law, intervening in numerous corporate transactions, restructuring and tax planning procedures. He has also regularly advised companies in all areas related to tax and commercial law and due diligence, as well as family estates (under state law and regional regulations). He has extensive experience in working with companies, among other sectors, in the wine industry, manufacturing, hotel and real estate, also a specialist in everything related to family businesses. On the other hand, he has intervened in relevant cases of tax litigation, having extensive experience in matters related to such proceedings. In addition, from 2014 to date, Ekain Aguiriano ranks on the Best Lawyers list as a tax law specialist. He is also a regular lecturer at various courses and seminars at a number of centres and institutions (among others, Federación de Empresarios de La Rioja, Asociación para el Progreso de la Dirección –APD-, Centro Tecnológico del Calzado de la Rioja).
